1996
First specialist electrical equipment recycling company to achieve the internationally recognised environmental management standard ISO 14001.
ISO 9001 also obtained.
1998
First specialist electrical equipment recycling company to obtain a comprehensive waste management licence allowing the processing and recycling of a full range of electrical equipment.
2000
First and only electrical equipment recycling company to be asked to feature in the HSE safety video ‘One Careful Owner’ illustrating health and safety best practice in the recycling industry.
2002
First specialist electrical equipment recycling company to identify the possibility of, and subsequently implement, the recovery of ceramic insulators to be milled and utilised as aggregate for building works.
2003
First specialist electrical equipment recycling company to achieve recognition as an ‘Investor in People’ organisation (and are still the only specialist electrical equipment dismantler/processor to hold this accreditation).
2004
First specialist electrical equipment recycling company to achieve accreditation via the Achilles Utilities Vendor Data Base ‘Verify’ scheme.
2007
First and only electrical equipment recycling company to develop non-sodium based technology for the removal of PCB from contaminated oil.
2010
Completion of Phase 1 development at Queensway Meadows Industrial Estate, Newport providing additional facilities to support our existing operation at Pyle, Bridgend.
Whilst many of Celtic Recycling’s skills and capabilities have evolved in response to electricity industry demands, they are readily transferable to any sector with similar plant or equipment disposal requirements; in particular rail network operators and major power users. The company welcome enquiries and would be more than pleased to discuss specific requirements.
Celtic Recycling Limited is listed on The Utility Vendor Database (UVDB) and independently audited and formally approved as a specialist contractor to the electricity industry. under the associated ‘Verify’ assessment scheme.
